Alex Damian Rojas
Visual Arts
This Colombian artist was born in Bogotá in 1979 and demonstrated his vocation for the graphic arts since he was a child and loved pencil drawing at home and at school. Alex started to study airbrushing as a hobby with a personal instructor for one year, which allowed him to find his true artistic essence.

Lucy’s passion for the Latin American culture started 14 years ago when, after finishing her music degree in England, she decided to head overseas for six months for her first taste of the Latino culture. Why? She saw a promo video for a local community volunteer programme in Florianopolis, southern Brazil.
Javier Venegas

Javier is originally from Iquique, Chile, where he started singing since he was 8 years old in different groups over the years. He has been part of groups like trios and male quartets with tight harmonies and high notes. Javier has always been fond of classical music so he decided to improve his vocal techniques.

Danza mi Tierra is a cultural dance group that focuses on promoting traditional dance from Mexico and the Caribbean, and creating awareness about the importance of preserving the artistic traditions of their vast cultural heritage. This independent group was first supported by the Embassy of Mexico.

Luis Pincol, shearer by trade, is 33 years old and from Porvenir, Tierra del Fuego, Chile. He has competed nationally, representing Chile in New Zealand and also internationally for 6 years. Now he lives in Waimate with his partner Susana from Punta Arenas and his two sons, Demian (10) and Luciano (4).

Ann Ortega is a Mexican Event Producer based in Auckland. With a responsibility to her culture and traditions, she has organised for 4 years the biggest Mexican festivals in New Zealand. Each event showcased Mexico’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage through artisan handcrafts, music, dance, gastronomy and more.

Alejandro Ibañez, from Santiago, Chile, is a Chilean DJ that has lit up various events around New Zealand. His style is a fusion of different Latin American musical styles. From salsa to reggaeton, DJ A5 has been putting the rhythm into nightclubs and bars around New Zealand for years.
